Biodegrading & recycled lanyards are manufactured from items that have been harvested from our planet earth, discarded grain stems and fibres manufactured from organic matter are all subject to degradation.
Degradation is the process by which organic matter is broken down by living micro organisms and other assorted enzymes.
We are manufacturing our lanyards and other promotional items from plant remnants, animal matter and other substances originating from living things. If we cannot make our lanyards from an organic substance we will manufacture a material that is so close to the real thing that it can still be broken down by many diverse organisms.
"We buried a recycled lanyard into a compost bin and it broke down in 2 weeks!"
Now that’s pretty fast! Think about how many small promotional items and lanyards get dumped, when they could be broken down into landfill within 6 weeks, taking up virtually no resources whatsoever!
Some other examples of degrading items:
- Banana peel: 2 - 10 days
- Cotton rag: 1 - 5 months
- Sugarcane pulp: 1 - 2 months
- Orange peel: 6 months
- Wool socks: 5 years
- Cigarettes: 1 - 12 years
- Milk Cartons: 5 years (See recycled tetrapak items)
- Earth friendly lanyards: 6 weeks (sometimes less, depending on conditions)
It’s really not hard to see what we must do; and we hope that a range of earth friendly recycled promotional items will accelerate our planets well being and spread the word about saving our environment! |
